Over the last month and a half, we’ve had couples from all around the Washington DC area enter in the chance to win an entirely FREE wedding film by Thomas Bowen Films (Valued at $4,00). On March 4, we threw all of the 115 names in a hat and randomly selected one lucky couple to win our Trilliant Bliss package for their wedding day. We’re excited to finally announce the winning couple and share their story!
Christie and Michael’s wedding is March 31 at St. Theresa Catholic Church and Lansdowne Golf Clubhouse….Can you imagine hearing that less than a month before your wedding day you won an entirely free wedding film? It goes without saying, Christie was so surprised and thrilled when she heard the news! I asked Christie to tell us a little bit more about her wedding day…her answers are included below along with some adorable images from their engagement session with Timmester Photography.
How did you both meet?
“Mike and my brother Kevin have been friends for years, but I never got a chance to meet Mike. I remember when I finally did run into him at a golf course, I spent almost a half hour joking around with him and thinking how funny it was! My brother ended up setting us up on a date and after that, Mike and I were pretty much inseparable.(You know you have a great guy when your baby brother gives it a thumbs up!) Mike is funny, kind, and makes me so happy so of course I was thrilled when he decided to propose!”
How did you hear about the sweepstakes and what made you enter?
“I have always loved Thomas’ work and regularly visit the blog. When I saw the contest announced, I mentioned it to Mike and he encouraged me to enter us, never dreaming we would be so lucky! We have so many friends who have amazing wedding videos and we wanted something that we could watch together for years to come!”
Did you have a specific vision in mind when you first began planning your wedding?
“Hospitality and thoughtfulness are so important to us! I knew that I wanted to focus on making sure our guests had the best experience for our wedding weekend. We chose a location that would be great for our big families and vendors who we loved as artists and people. Every person who will be at the wedding, even the vendors, are people who we genuinely care about! I can’t wait to be surrounded by all that love.”
What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
“I can’t wait to take my father’s arm, my mother’s hand, and walk down the aisle and see Mike’s face for the first time! Happy tears will be flowing for sure!”
